Pablo Honey (Revisited-Invited)

Pablo Honey is one of the restaurant in Melbourne that I'm very fond of, one of the owner Matt Carpenter is a very friendly, warm and passionate guy. On my very first visit to Pablo Honey, near to their opening month, I was mesmerise by the skull art displayed on the wall, made by Matt's wife and every time I came in, that's the first thing I look at.

Once again, Matt email me and invited me down to Pablo Honey to taste their fourth season. This time I bring my mom and my uncle families in with me. Matt was really accomodating with the kids and make a friendly conversation with everyone. We started our Sunday lunch with an army of starters; Chargrilled Wallaby Fillet - guindilla chilli, charred leeks and salbitxada, Braised Oxtail - wet chipotle polenta, charred onions, coriander and Fried Local Whitebait - smoked chilli aioli, cumin salt. Our clear favourite was the super tender and flavourful oxtail but the wallaby was also delicious and well cooked.

Then our main meal arrived; BBQ Beef Asado Ribs - polenta chips, chimmichuri and Habanero Charred Pork Shoulder - chapa fry bread, corn lime salsa. Both of this dish are abit spicy but my aunt loves them so much, she almost devour half of the pork by her self.

The final course or so we called dessert. My mom was really excited about this, since she have seen in many times in my pictures. Of course it's Pablo Honey signature dessert, the skull. But we also tried two other desserts; Caramelised Milk Pudding - coffee ice cream, hazelnut toffee and Burnt Orange Creme Catalan - creme friache, confit citrus. My new favourite was their milk pudding, it was flavourful, creamy and well balanced. I could have this at any other day.

I have dine in at Pablo Honey at every single seasons they had since they're open. Here's some beverages and dish from the second and third season's. Some dishes stays, some move on with the change of seasons but Matt did said maybe later on they'll make a reunion season of all favourite dishes. I would certainly be interested in that.

The service at Pablo Honey has always been nice, friendly and warm especially Matt him self. It's always been a pleasure to dine at Pablo Honey and cheers to many more seasons.
