Macaron used to be the most popular desserts in 2013 but as the time goes by, new trend has come by and it's doughnuts as well as dessert hybrids. We have cronuts, bronuts, wonuts and more. Dessert Parlour come up with a brilliant idea of combining the classic elegant macaron with sweet juicy doughnut then Macaronut was born. The top part is macaron and the bottom part is doughnut filled with delicious varieties of fillings.

I have attended one of their pop up event earlier this year called Holly Macaronut! and this time they held the event in collaboration with the Workshop Bros. This venue is the second venue for Workshop, their bigger sister is located in Glen Huntly. The cafe is small yet has a modern and sleek Scandinavian feeling, decorated with blonde wood furnitures and marble bench top. It's a well match collaboration since Melbournian loves their coffee so much especially in the morning.

They introduce different flavours of macaronut in this event; Matcha & Coconut, Dark Chocolate & Raspberry and Cookies & Cream/Oreo. They also served Vanilla Gold Doughnut, Vanilla Pistachio Doughnut, Matcha Pastry Choux and Chocolate Pastry Choux. The most popular flavour is matcha and I agreed. The matcha flavour was clearly present and it mixed really well with the coconut.

Macaronut is fun, innovative and creative. Don't miss the chance to have a taste of this brand new dessert hybrid. Macaronut will be available for grabs every Sunday from 10am-sold out until the 31st of August.
