Michelangelo Osteria offers an authentic Italian flavour owner by a team of husband and wife. They want to bring a little something from their home town to Melbourne. The wife comes from a long generation of restaurant business families just like me. We had a warm chat and exchange happy stories about our families. It was a pleasant conversation.

I was involved in Food Social Global Feast as usual and this month is Italy. Michelangelo divided into two levels, casual cafe and small dining area downstairs and bigger but warm large dining area upstairs. Both area have an Italian familia vibe with dark wood furnitures and wall arts.

We started the dinner with assorted of Entree from the Centre Italy: Fried Rice Ball, Oven Baked Ricotta, Crispy Skin Pork Loin filled with Mediterranean herbs and beer buttered codfish fillet. The overall taste was really tasty, rich and salty but we just can't stop eating.

Primo from North Italy: 4 Meat Stuffed Small pasta Ravioli served with a reduction juicy sauce. The home made pasta was well made with a tender meat with tangy sauce.

Secondo from South Italy: Grass Field Oven Baked Baby Goat with potatoes and capsicum. The baby goat was very tender, it falls off the bone. We don't need two cutleries to eat it. This is my favourite dish of the night.

Dolce from Centre Italy: Almond Crumble Cake with Zabaion Cream and Tuscan Style Cantucci with Vinsanto Wine. Half of the crowd was expecting for tiramisu but they served us something different, it's a crumbly almond cake with creamy cream and cantucci with dessert wine.

It was another successful event with another lively and friendly crowd. Food Social next event is available on their website. The next Global Feast is J for Japan and will be held at Kumo Izakaya.
