Shukufuku (Invited)

Shukufuku is a brand new fast food, cheap eats in Lygon area. Located just besides Il Dolce Fredo and Ying Thai, perfect location for RMIT and Melbourne University students. It served various Japanese iconic dishes with a little bit of a twist.

I was invited to their launching party with various other bloggers and I have heard prior to the event that the owner is Indonesian. What I did not realise is actually I know one of the personnel, we ended up having a chat and it was nice to know a little bit more about the place from the owner it self. The restaurant it self was petit but very well decorated. It was bright with a splash of yellow and blue, very modern yet edgy and minimalistic.

They have two types of packages donburi (rice, one selection of meat/vegie and salad) for $9.8 and bento (rice, two selection of meat/vegie and salad) for $12.8. Add ons such as miso soup ($1) and onsen egg ($1.5) also available. I opted for bento with Crab Claw and Hamburg Teriyaki. The hamburg teriyaki was a little bit dense and needed a little bit more tender but the crab claw was delicious. It was full of meat and taste sweet, just perfect.

Another bento box with Spicy Chicken Egg Roll, Beef Sukiyaki and Ebi Furai add ons. I love the toppings on top of the rice, it elevates the dish even more. My partner loves the chicken egg roll, it was slightly crispy but tasty and tender. The beef sukiyaki was sweet and nice but the ebi furai was super crunchy outside and tasty inside. Yum.

The service was really fast and friendly, the staff also very well trained and able to explain all the menu. Tab water also provided. The overall food experience was good and would love to come back for more.
