Oko Oko is a Japanese restaurant specialise in Okonomiyaki. Okonomiyaki is one of the popular dish in Osaka. Oko Oko made their own Okonomiyaki made of flour, egg, cabbage, corn and fresh potato. They are the only Japanese restaurant focusing on Okonomiyaki in Melbourne. Besides that they also served various rice dishes. Oko Oko is famous among students cause it's located near Melbourne University.

I was invited by Alan, the owner of the restaurant to have a taste of their Okonomiyaki. The interior is divided into two sides, the entrance side was playful, colourful with wall arts. The other side was decorated in wooden furnitures and minimum decoration.

Green Tea Latte ($3.5) and Grain Tea ($3.3). Their green tea latte was warm but a bit grainy and not the best quality. The grain tea was pretty enjoyable.

Beef Steak Okonomiyaki - Grilled Scotch Fillet with teriyaki sauce ($12.5). The beef was pretty good but the okonomiyaki was just okay.

Teriyaki Chicken Okonomiyaki - Grilled chicken thigh pieces with teriyaki sauce ($9.3). I added cheese on top of this dish and it was tasty and helped the okonomiyaki flavour a bit.

Fried Fish Curry - Crunchy fried fish with homemade curry sauce ($10.9). The fish was really dry and the curry taste just like packages curry. There is nothing special about this dish.

Chicken Karaage - Crispy fried chicken pieces served with sweet and spicy sauce ($5.5). I love fried chicken but sadly it was very dry and the sauce does not help at all.

Matcha Mixed Fruit - Green tea soft serve topped with fresh strawberry, kiwi and orange ($5.5). I enjoyed this dish and my favourite out of all. The green eta soft served has a nice smooth texture balanced with rice crispy in the bottom and fresh fruits.

The service was okay, I was greeted and served by Sherry the restaurant manager. I do think they needed more staff to keep the place tidy at all times. Overall, the price was reasonable but there are many changes to be made to improve their food quality.
