Crux & Co is brand new cafe and bakery. They relocated on the ground floor of the Emerald Apartment on Albert Rd. Their menu has an Korean influence behind it, serving classic breakfast menu with new innovation and flavour.

I was invited to their launch party but sadly could't attend due to other event on the same day. Gladly, they agreed to host me and my partner privately on the weekdays. As some of you may have known, one of my weekness is bakery, pasty and desserts. Crux & co sells all of them, I knew it from the beginning I'll be going home with tons of them. The cafe it self fits 110 seats on a very well decorated space with dusty pink, creme, blond wood and plants strategically place.









Skinny Cappucinno ($4) and Orange Juice ($6). They have a very talented barista on their theme, one of them used to work at Manchester Press which mean various attractive coffee art available. Their coffee quality was good, fluffy and smooth.



Bisque Benedict - tiger prawns, poached eggs & a lobster bisque hollandaise served on squid ink toast ($20.5). This dish attracts me straight away and it was delicious. Luxurious food for brunch, why not? The toast was crunchy and the prawn was fresh as well as juice mixed in with lobster bisque hollandaise. What more do you want?




Scotch Quail Egg - arancini, falafel served on a potato roesti nest w/ mixed bean & chilli concise ($20.5). The potato roesti was super crunchy and the arancini was juicy inside but I wish for more of the scotch quail egg on the dish.




Green Tea Croissants ($4.5). This is one of my favourite green tea croissants in Melbourne. The dough was nice and buttery but what special is the green tea fillings. They are generous, strong green tea flavour with a nice sweetness at the end.


Macarons ($2.7); passionfruit & pistachio. The macarons are well made and it's so hard for me to pick the flavours but since I have plenty of sweets in line I decided on something fresh and a lil bit sour and a lil bit nutty. Both are not too sweet which I highly appreciate.


Eclairs ($3.8); 70% Bitter Chocolate,Raspberry, Passionfruit, Yoghurt, Salted Caramel & Green Tea. All of their eclairs are amazing and none of them are too sweet. My favourite are the bitter chocolate and passionfruit. They are small so you'll be able to taste a couple of flavours in the same time. Highly reccomended.





Green Tea Tiramisu, Apple Crumble Tart and Raspberry Pistachio Cheesecake. My favourite out of the three are the green tea tiramisu, I can really taste the green tea flavour in it yet still creamy and fresh. My second favourite is the raspberry pistachio, a unique combination yet work perfectly. A lil bit of sweet, sour and nutty taste with crunchiness from the bottom part and the macaron. The Apple crumble has real apple in it which I love so much.



The only let down was the food was taking quite sometime but the friendliness of the staff over comes all. They are pretty knowledgeable as well and able to explain all of the menu complete with a recommendation. Overall, I love Crux & co and definitely will be back soon with my family.
