Fifty Acres

Fifty Acres is located in the busy shoppers district at the famous Bridge Rd. Nick Gaoutsos opened Fifty Acres more than 2 years a go and it remained busy and popular.

The cafe was small yet well decorated with a fresh, bright modern interior yet classy and elegant. High ceilings, green walls, rustic timber floors, large marble bar and wooden furnishings screams simplicity, modern and slick design by Sue Palmer from Liquid Creativity and Georgia Nowak, Dhiren Das from Tone and Co. There are also some outdoor seatings in front of the cafe for those wanting some sun and fresh air.

Like always, I ordered by skinny cappuccino and their coffee is by Dukes with full bodied, complex, red apple acidity with notes of caramel milk chocolate. I certainly enjoyed my coffee since I love the sweet end of the coffee.

Breakfast Board - mini burrito, scotch egg, mini stack pumpkin pancakes ($26). This is the perfect breakfast for an undecided person like me, basically this board represents the most popular Fifty Acres Breakfast. The scotch eggs was crispy on the outside with golden runny yolk and creamy dressings, the let down was I wish there was more chorizo flavour in it. I love breakfast burrito and this one has official become one of my favourite, warm wrap with full of flavour fillings, no complain here. The pumpkin pancakes has a dominant pumpkin taste mixed in with the fresh orange, crumble and creamy mascarpone. All the ingredients complemented each other perfectly.

Wagyu Burger - tomato, cos ketchup, mustard & potato crisps ($16). The toasted bun was soft and fluffy, the beef was tender and juicy. Overall, it was a good dish.

It was one of the best breakfast I had this year, everything was well presented and taste as good. The only let down was the service was a bit slow even though the cafe was pretty small but I'll be back for the breakfast board for sure.
