Hardware Societe is arguably one of the most popular, famous and consistent brunch place in Melbourne since they first opened in 2010. It's certainly My Mom's favourite brunch spot, every time she visit me from Indonesia she had to have their Fried Brioche. She claimed it to be the best Fried Brioche ever and my mom does travel and eat a lot so she know's what she is talking about. Head Chef Jean Paul Dargan is known for using seasonal produce on their menu which may result in slight variations to the menu such as they used different fruits every seasoned on their french toast.

Edible Melbourne commented on one of my pictures in Instagram around a month a go, letting me know of their Hardware Societe giveaway. I gladly participated and lucky me, I won! I have been so busy lately, I only get to used the voucher last week. After my numerous visit to Hardware Societe in the past, I still get excited to visit them and have my favourite dishes. As usual it there were people lining in front of the cafe at 9am in the morning.

The cafe it self was petit but well decorated with fresh macarons, biscuits, croissants, savoury tarts on the counter. They have limited space indoor and outdoor and it's almost impossible for crowd larger than 4.

Their coffee is by Padre and one of the other reasons why my Mom loves this cafe so much is their 54% Callebaut Hot Chocolate. My dad used to study for 8 years in Holland and we do still have some relatives residing there so we often visit them on holidays. The number one on the list is to buy as much as Callebaut chocolate we can find, it's my family favourite chocolate. We claimed it to be the best chocolate bar ever.

My favourite dish is their super famous Baked Eggs Deux - chorizo sausage, potato, piquillo peppers, queso mahon, toasted almonds, alioli ($19). The baked eggs was perfectly cooked, creamy, full of flavour and perfect to eat on it's own or on top of the toast provided. My favourite baked eggs in Melbourne for sure.

Of course I has to order the Fried Brioche - strawberry confiture, chocolate sauce, fresh strawberries, toasted coconut, whipped coconut cream ($18). As usual it was perfectly made, generous strawberries and tasty coconut cream in the mixed. I also love this dish with peaches or nectarines.

I also spotted the Lobster Benedict and it looked delicious. Hardware Societe remain the busiest and definitely one of the best cafe in Melbourne CBD, if not the whole Melbourne area. This is definitely not going to be my last visit.
