Trei means third owns by Sarah Whitfield and Dimitri Dean (ex Sardi, currently Muharam). It opened nearly 4 months a go and has become one of the popular cafe on the east.

I arrived on a Saturday around 11am and there was a line of people in front of us. The wait was not too long, we were given a table inside in 15 mins. Trei cafe is light, airy, artsy chic pastel geometric mural on the back wall with white modern wooden furnishings but there are limited seatings indoor and outdoor. It certainly is different than the other cafe's around them.

They have a cabinet full of various healthy food such a their daily salads selections, snacks (protein ball, avocado brownies) and pastry's.

While deciding on what food to order, we decided to order some hot drinks since it was rainy and cold outisde. Matcha Green Tea Latte ($4.5). Sadly, their matcha latte was a bit grainy and bitter but with a strong green tea flavour.

Skinny Capuccino with their Nicolo house blend coffee ($3.5). The coffee was pretty decent but not too strong on their aroma and taste.

I had a dilemma between ordering the coconut hotcake and their panna cotta with poached pear. In the end, I decided to order the Coconut Hotcakes - vanilla, nutmeg co yo ice cream, coconut nectar, toasted pistachios & blueberries ($18.5). Beautifully presented. The hotcakes had a nice fluffy, airy and warm consistency but it was a heavy dish. Honestly, I like the taste but I could not even finish half of it, I suggest to share it especially for the girls.

Fried Chicken Bao - lime mayo, red slaw & peanut chilli praline ($18). The chicken was really crunchy and tender inside mixed with avocado and the delicious creamy sauce that I love.

Their service was really friendly and attentive, even though they are really busy on the weekends. I might be back for their panna cotta dish.
