Lucky Penny

This place is very strategic, it's located in front of Jam Factory, South Yarra. Lucky Penny has a big space, it's a two storey cafe. It has a small outdoor area in front of the cafe and spacey, bright white indoor area. They have a small semi private area at the very back of first storey, would be great for a private meeting or functions.

Love how well the store is the decorated. Classic, modern but still have the warehouse feeling to it but so much more brighter with the white walls and natural lights from the outside.

They have very limited menu selections for brunch. The coffee was a bit bitter but good, perfect temperature and the milk was fluffy.

The soup of the day was cauliflower and it was delicious. It has a very thick textures but full of flavours, perfectly seasoned.

The pork belly roll with apple coleslaw and sriracha mayo ($14) was great. I don't really like the bread but the fillings was awesome, super cripsy skin pork crackling, refreshing salad with tasty mayo. The pork it self are lean not too much fat. Yum!

The staff was pretty slow and forget everything, our cutlery, sugar etc. We went in on a Wednesday morning and there are barely people there but she is working alone as a runner and cashier. There is only one other guy working at the coffee station and he was kinda rude.

They are also open for dinner and they focus on exploring a new dining concept of The Hunter’s Kitchen by Head Chef Jason Chan. The dinner menu that takes its inspirations from Nordic, Scandinavian and Viking roots. I would definitely be back for dinner!
