Suddenly donut is in trend and with various fancy creations to upgrade normal american donut to gourmet donut. This shop is one of many that do just that. Small, cute and warm coloured store in the middle of the city, just half block away from Melbourne central. Nice getaway from the busy city life. They sell beverages too such as coffee.

At first I tried to order online for christmas. Later on, I received an email stating they actually closed and have to defer my order to the next year and I don't mind. When I come to pick up my order some of the flavour I ordered have been discontinued and they have to replace it with the new flavour. The owner speak to me personally and give me a couple complimentary donut. That's very nice of him to do so.
The donut it self are good. The texture of the donut not as oily as the other donuts shop which is good and make me able to eat more than one donut at a time. Since then I visited Shortstop Donut numerous times.

The sticky date and gingerbread flavour was the best! It taste like one of the dutch biscuits called speculas and the ginger leaves you a warm and a bit spicy taste. Love it! Definitely will be back for more of the speculas and ginger!

Cinnamon, Cardamom & Sugar ($4) it's super light, fluffy and had a subtle flavours of spice and the sugar just tied all of the ingredients together.

Strawberry and cream ($5) has a sweet sour strawberry flavours, light filling and the crumb on top adds texture to the donut.

Maple Walnut & Brown Butter ($4.5) is another flavour I like, I didn't know that maple walnut could be so good on top of a donut.

Vanilla Bean ($4) is a classic flavour, sometimes simplicity works just as well as a complicated innovative flavours and this is the example of it.

Hazelnut Chocolate & Banana ($4.5) has a sweet hazelnut flavours and mixed with banana turns into a classic flavour that everybody loves.

Peanut Butter & Jam ($5) is one of my favourite donut flavours at Shortstop Donut, it has a rich, salty peanut butter and sweet, sour jam. Yum!

Australian honey sea salt ($4) texture was softer than the donuts and it melted in your mouth. Salt and honey combination is loveable.

New Orleans Iced Coffee ($4). I love coffee and anything taste like coffee. Shortstop coffee done a good job with cruller.

Earl Grey & Rose ($4.5). Their earl grey flavour is my favourite, it's refreshing and light. It's like eating donut with tea. I can really taste the earl grey.

Shortstop Donut creates new inventive, creative flavours of donut every now and then. Keep in tune on their websites or drop by to their store every now and then to spot their new flavours.
